ScottyB I think most of the paint is original, but it has had at least one touch-up on that spot above the RH rear tail lamp. I painted part of the panel below the grille as there were quite a few stone chips. The only rust I found was in the floorpan. A couple small spots near driver and passenger heel area and also LH rear floor pan, due to a previously leaky windscreen. I treated and repaired these areas when I removed the degraded rubber flooring, and I applied a layer of Dynamat type material, then sound insulation on top of that and new carpet. Other than that nothing - no rust in outer body area that I can see at all.
The paint itself is decent except on the roof, bonnet and tops of doors, where it's faded/dull/thin looking. There are minor dents and dings that I tried to highlight, specifically in the RH front door and guard, behind RH rear wheel arch, and LH rear door. All the trim and brightwork is decent with some minor dents in the SS chrome spear trims. I have a couple new replacement trims for those.
All the door sills and the doors themselves appear to be rust free and have original shiny blue paint as shown in the photos.
The dash is in perfect condition. The odometer works but not the trip meter. The original owner installed a small VDO tachometer and clock, and power antenna in LH rear guard, with switch for antenna located where ash tray would have been in dash. I have an original dash fascia plate (with wood grain vinyl) from a 164 as well as a spare ash tray if the new owner wants to return the dash to the original look,
Seats aren't bad - I replaced the webbing in the front seats. The passenger seat looks great, driver's seat has a couple splits int he vinyl on the outer panel as shown in the pic. Rear seat looks fine except for the seam split as shown on the LH rear outer cushion - note this is just the stitching that's split, not the vinyl itself, so should be easy to repair. There's some fading/discolouration on the front seats/headreasts due to sun exposure.
The roof lining is intact but has some staining in spots. The grab handle end cap covers are missing (they degrade and turn to dust!) I think repro parts are available.
The rear boot area is in excellent condition with some minor staining at the front LH side of the boot carpet. No rust in boot floor or LH/RH storage pocket areas. Rubber mat in boot storage area is in perfect condition.
Tailgate does not appear to have any rust at all.
Engine compartment paint is as-new (all original). I have a new rubber seal for the cowl panel at base of windscreen at the back of the engine bay.
I installed a centre tunnel console storage tray with clock (although clock isn't connected yet). I also fitted genuine Volvo rubber floor mats.
All the door cards are in good condition - one minor damage on RH rear door card as shown. Driver's vent window is missing the threaded post and screw cap to lock the vent window closed, but I have a replacement (I think it may require ungluing the old part to install the new one, hence I haven't done this yet as the vent window latch works fine as is).
I fitted ipd sway bars and Bilstein B6 shocks. The car runs and drives fine - no issues at all. It did take about 1 min of cranking to get it started yesterday as it had been sitting for 6 months or more.
The heater fan doesn't work, but I have a good replacement to put in, and as I mentioned the RH rear brake caliper is sticking. I ordered a rebuilt caliper from RockAuto and I plan to replace that and flush the brake fluid at the same time. New brake hoses and pads were fitted by the previous owner as part of their suspension rebuild on the car.
I fitted new Hella horns.
The previous owner replaced the windscreen and seal at the time the RWC was done.
Other than that, I think that highlights pretty much everything. Any questions, please let me know or send me a PM if you'd like to discuss via phone. This really is a genuinely tidy car, and I think it deserves to be preserved in its current state, but that's of course up to the new owner if it sells. I think the asking price is reasonable considering the car's condition, rarity and in comparison to some other 145s I've seen listed in recent years.
