@guru posted some inspiration for his 140 build here

These pix, taken from the web some time ago, are the inspiration for my 142. Unfortunately I can't find the original source of these pictures.

As can be seen, this is a LHD car, so the OP doesn't have to worry about a steering box on the RH side of the engine bay, nor a brake extension bar next to the firewall, which sits above and behind the engine (and from guru's account, gets in the way of the engine).

I' want to relocate he brake booster and master cylinder to the RH side of the car, but not in the same way as this was accomplished in the early 140s, i.e. with a long extension tube from the firewall to the booster - no, instead, I'd prefer to mount the brake booster bracket to the firewall, or as close to it as possible.

Now... I realise that's not going to happen with ordinary Volvo-sized 8 or 9-inch diameter booster.... so, would anyone out there who regularly sees the under-bonnet areas of a far wider variety of gadgets than me, have any recommendations for the source of an alternative booster that might fit?
I suspect Angus sees a lot more brake setups though. I have just seen that in some tight fwd conversions.
Remote boosters are used on 122s with some level of success fwiw..
This could be a goer. @Vee_Que, can you please point me to pix of a RHD Amazon with a remote booster installation?

Yup - vertically-mounted engine, using a B18 / B20 sump pan at a guess.
Yoshifab is doing a tc conversion on on a 142 their fb page. A few photos on there.. I think lhd though. I was just non boosted or under-dash? don't think they have got to brakes yet though.
It's not too hard to find a shot, but they use the stock unassisted master going into the remote booster and second mc. At the lh front.

might be the way to go the stock mc will fit on rhs

Yeah, just had a look / see there - the pix are for 2014. But as this one shows....

.... it is a LHD, and that Holset is sitting in the precise spot usually occupied by the brake booster in an early 140.

Someone asked for an update on the brakes too, lol.

Sooo... yup, a stock unassisted master going into the remote booster and a 2nd master may be a solution.
And the problem of using a 3-row pulley was solved this way. mmm yes, was trying to keep my engine low to clear the brake remote bar thingy, but the wilwood under dash one below might alleviate this - pretty cheap to - $360 or so.

This is Stig Arne SOLHEIMS car from Norway. - he has some good u tube videos if you search that name.

A new pedal box like that is a solution that had also crossed my mind, but I was reluctant to go that way unless absolutely necessary.

This also popped up on a search - an electrically-powered remote booster setup.

Opinions?

Read something about them being no good due to failures, and haven't been developed further, if its the same one.
a month later

No go, engine is too high if positioned to clear sway bar. Might be ok for a B21 not sure of deck height on those but not the B230ft - the engine is too high and no bonnet clearance- Removing the sway bar now, fit motor then will worry about the sway bar later...
There's a guy who made a b23et fit his 122, cut down the front wheel, and running a 360 water pump as its narrower...
