I have a 2007 Volvo Fm7 truck that goes into limp mode. Computer says to check transmission and check engine.

used to be able to wait 15 mins then off she would go again, but has progressively got worse to the point where you would have all dash lights but nothing when you turn the key. We have changed the relays and whole cluster as they get hot but dont smoke. to no avail. when we changed the whole cluster in the dash she went for 600klms before going into Limp mode again. Aparently it had 61 codes come up on a computer but then ole mate didnt want to do anything about it or give us the codes. Anyone else had this problem

    Go to a different mechanic maybe

    Garen where are you located? Either way you need someone switched on with modern diagnostic procedures.

      Thanks! We know all the above, (except that this is only a car forum) our problem is getting someone to look at it..I just thought someone else may have had a similar issue to get us started.

        Garen generally on this era of truck it's the whole wiring loom behind the dash needs replacing unfortunately. Have 2 08 models that had similar problems. Quicker and easier to replace the lot than troubleshoot we found
