It's about time i put up a project thread for my latest Volvo. I bought it from a customer after his cambelt snapped. We have serviced it for at least 15 years, but it was starting to be neglected by the owner, and was a bit run down. I replaced the head, lower control arms, strut tops, shocks (had nivomats in the rear), fitted silicon heater hoses, v70 tails, 3" stainless down-pipe, N/A cams and throttle-body, and a ecu tune from a mate in japan. I also threw on the 19" pegs i had laying around the shop and a roof spoiler from Ash (@AshDVS) . The paint is tired on the roof and bonnet and i will eventually tidy the exterior up but i'm pretty happy with the car overall . I have a set of Eibach springs thanks to Kieran (@kstanley) to go in and will also be getting some performance shocks for it. I also want to change the side indicators to the later v70 type and finish the exhaust system(currently stock from downpipe back). The rear track is also annoying me so it will be getting some spacers. *If/when the gearbox blows up it will get an m56 from my v70 10 valve*

edit: the mudflaps are already gone!

For me 17" s are as big as I like, maybe very low would help here.

The rip kit was apparently fitted after the first owner blew the turbo after less than 40,000kms. Im also gonna need some xr5 brakes asap

The replica pegs run a slightly higher offset than oem, so it only ever scrubs in tight carparks on full lock, much like any 8" rim on a p80. I have removed the plastic guard liners and will also be rolling the guards when i fit the lowered springs. The ride is actually nowhere near as bad as i originally thought it would be

If your down in melb you should bring her along to one of the regular meets! Im being over run by 240s and 740s as this point :P

Looks good. Needs lower and maybe an R front spolier?

Did you flash the ECU or get a complete one?

I'm using a H&R set which pushes them out 15mm each side.
They require a longer bolt too. Let me know if you need a set.

This is the best pic I have on my imgur account but I can email across some specifics if you like.
They'll help a bit with your wheels too - I'd guess they'll be ET48 (as per 18" Pegasus) rather than ET43 like typical 850 Volan and Titan.

Thanks Julian (@Ghettobird) I usually head to melbz in late september and would like to make it to a friday night meet. Im planning on seeing Ash (@AshDVS) for the above H&R spacers, some shocks and the brake upgrade once i sort out another downpipe for him

nicko (@nickm) I want to run a black front lip to keep the two-tone theme going. The Ecu was a freebie with a bunch of stuff i ordered so i threw it in. I was going to have a go at flashing one myself for my V70XC when it gets a later model engine/even bigger turbo

Tim if you get a chance to take some photos of the fitment of those wheels chuck some up so i can have a look. was just thinking that the tires might be totally wrong for the 850 as i think the rolling diameter is a little off i think that wheel had 225/35/18 and its 8.5x19 et40 5x108 so if you go on the (will they fit) website and punch in your current wheel specs compared to the ones i gave you, you can adjust the profile and width to suit your needs then order tires to suit.
