Vida throws no codes…Starts then revs to 1200 and dies as if ignition is cut…Fuel pressure is low on 1st prime..10lbs..then 45/50lbs and holding.

All old posts on various forums suggest antenna ring on the ignition, going by the part number it has been changed before.

I'd like to save this car, as its been well looked after.

Any thoughts?

Cheers David

I chased this problem on my Yr 98 C70 for over 18months. Did all the recommended things i.e antenna ring, ignition switch, injector clean etc and could never fix it. Again no codes would show up. Disconnect the atmospheric pressure sensor (lift bonnet and it is on drivers side at front). See if car starts OK. If it does, this is problem. If there is problem it should show error code but mine never did till it was disconnected. If it does not fix problem , reconnect and you have wasted 10 minutes of your time…sorry. If you need to replace it only use Bosch or genuine Volvo.

Hope this helps

Thanks Graham, I cant find the sensor you are talking about, but this is a P2 car so probably different?. I have been going through live readings in VIDA and am finding that its possibly a cem issue, as when reading immobilizer live CEM-ECU data recieved : no…could be a problem I think..maybe back to what I know..Carbs, points and dizzy🤭 Cheers

Thought the V70 up to 2004 used the baromatic pressure sensor.Image description
Anyway just a thought.

Wouldnt be a sensor. Vida would pick that up. Just replaced one like that.

Hi Graham, I found it, different to the one pictured, but unfortunately not the problem. I am pretty convinced its the CEM communication problem
