I'm testing the waters. Thinking of selling my 144. Beautiful car in great condition, white with blue interior, completely original. Full NSW rego to Oct, plates will be changed. New Michelin XVS radials. 113K miles. A/C fitted from new but not running (compressor out of car but included). I have owned the car for 1.5 years, bought as an interest car but for the last 5 months I've been using it as my daily. Handles the job well but worried about destroying a beautiful car.

Price, open to serious offers. (Not going to give it away).

How do I attach pics? Happy to email pics to anyone interested.

Cheers, Paul

1. If you don't have the pictures on the web already, sign up for a free image host service. e.g. imgur. com

2. When you're ready to post pictures, copy the URL where the picture is located on the web

3. Hit 'Post Comment' on OzVolvo, then click the "picture" icon in your OzVolvo message box (it's the 6th one along). It will pop up a box saying "Enter image URL"

3. Paste the URL of the picture into the box. Repeat 2 and 3 for each picture you want to put in the post.
Thanks for that. I have downloaded Igmur, posted the pics (I think) but bugger if I can work the URLs etc. I know I'm old but I can usually work these things.

That's no good either Rob. The pages I'm seeing are not the same as the ones shown in the 'how to do'.
Great looking car, the under dash aircon and column shift are a bit different.
Angus, the autos of the early 144 were column shift. The a/c I'm guessing was fitted before or just after delivery. The only problem with the a/c is that the glovebox had to be removed to fit the unit.

Paul
Yeah it's pretty rare to see a column auto 140 these days, I think I've only ever seen one in person, back in about 2000. I guess the vast majority were manuals around that time.

Just bumping it up the top.

My first Volvo was a Dec 1970 build 145A, Same setup as this. Bought it Mar 77 with 48,000 mi on clock. Col shift Auto; selector arrow goes backward because it was repositioned from LHD. PNRDL shown tho' its a 3 speed auto. Also curious to note these were the only Volvos with RHS indicator switches. Inspite of supposedly underpowered B20 / single carby ./ auto combo the kickdown on these was amazing - instant 5000 rpm -and combined with the superior suspension I remember eating a 4.2 Kingswood up Razorback one trip back from the snow!
John, totally agree with all you have said. Took me awhile to get used to the gear selector pointer going backwards, I now just ignore it. The do go very well. I think that the indicator stalk was moved to the right side due to the auto selector position.
