K49 What is involved with replacing the oil sump gasket and oil seal on the rear. Repair cost? Thankyou. Kenneth
Major Ledfoot ramrod The engine has to be removed. Ayup. You can do just the sump pan gasket by dropping the rack and crossmember, but then you have to pull the transmission too to do the rear main oil seal. Faster to pull the whole donk to do both.

Major Ledfoot The sump pan gasket is one piece. The housing [22] for the rear main seal [23] has a gasket [24] between it and the block.
