Am a proud owner of the above. Have had him for about a year now. The powerplant has been brilliant. However there has been a loud hum that develops at 60 to 80 kph and dies off as I approach 100kph. Due to the long distances travelled, it did not really crop up until the recent hiatus which lead to more in town driving.
The sound is of a grinding, whirring nature which gets louder when decelerating - especially about 70-60kph. Recently, I’ve noticed a slight vibration occuring in the steering wheel too.
Wondering how long and what would happen if I put off repairs for a while, as it has been diagnosed as the legendary rear diff bearing grind. Repairs were quited at about 4-5k including labour.
Any input about this would be welcome. Not sure how long a repair like that usually takes, would hope that it could be done in a day or sth.
