The first pic of 240 GpA car 44 was the one built up in mid 86 in Melbourne at Sheppards Calder workshop.
Helped owner identify it as Aussie built, converted from a local 242GT and all.
Yes indeedie, and it still has its original Australian ADR compliance plate near the LH strut tower. It's been totally rebuilt by the new owner, who had many pictures of the immaculate restoration work. Here is the plate from the RH side.
This vehicle was also very interesting - the C303 used in the Paris - Dakar. One of the original crew members was telling my wife and I about their adventure, and how they fitted the C303 with a safe for their cash and passports!
It's powered by a B30, with a cam profile favouring more torque over horsepower.
The 144 Taxis had the full taxi pack, which included the driver barrier.
