I can’t answer your question however can share something similar. I recently moved to North Queensland and the air conditioner in our 2006 XC70 stopped working one very humid day.
Took it to a local AC specialist who I hadn’t used before ( how I miss not having Voldat around anymore) who found nothing wrong except there was too much pressure in the system. They released some gas and it has worked perfectly since.
It hasn’t been touched since it was new ( 19 years ago) so asked how it could suddenly increase pressure and it was explained the increase in humidity usually does it. Car spent all of its life in either country NSW or Macedon Ranges in Victoria so certainly a big change. The specialist mentioned he moved from South Australia himself a few years earlier and he had the same problem.
Maybe something as left field as this could be the problem? Please share when you do find out what it is.
Thanks.
