Hi forum, So I'm still new to this hand me down but my familiarity is growing.
Since the first, the car labours to start when cold (new battery, new leads and plugs fitted). When warm, it fires then shuts down then struggles to an idle on second twist of the key. Once warm and running it idles smoothy.
Mucking around under the bonnet a few days ago, I discovereid a disconnected vacuum hose (firewall device to induction feed) and a badly cracked vacuum hose (engine block to cannister under the front mudguard LHS). I've no idea what the device on the firewall is or the cannister in the front inner guard.
After replacing both hoses, the car does not idle although it starts instantly. Removing the hose firewall to induction, the car idles but roughly. Removing the hose to the cannister the idle is smooth once warm, however the first starting issue is back.
Could someone tell me what is going on?
