Advice needed - Calling all 850 wagon owners!!

I've installed a factory silencer on my T-5R wagon but I can't get the rear hangers attached.... The pipe hangers sit too far forward.

Can people tell me what part numbers they have installed & whether my chassis hanger looks correct?

I only have one threaded hole on the chassis leg so I've no options to move it the hanger.

Parts Installed:

Front section: 9143639

Silencer section: 9135407

Update on previous post: I cut the pipe hanger and rewelded it in the correct location and mounted the factory black tip. Looks the part now:

GCP ORDER:

More items from Volvo - these particular items took over 4 months to arrive. They were ordered through a Volvo dealership but via the partnership they have with GCP. Ordering this way may save on postage but I believe it's best just order from GCP direct.

GCP tip: because the website is in a different language and the translation for each item description can been inaccurate, it's best to just get the part number from the catalogue and then search each specific part number in GCP.

I think I've also accidentally ordered doubles of certain parts - whoops!!

A few items under the hood:

  • Oil level warning label for dipstick
  • SRS airbag decal
  • Correct bolt for headlight wiper motor (I was missing one)
  • Fuel return hoses and clamps
  • Volvo emblem for grille

Also the rear right rubber trim clip had failed, I think it's one of these Volvo clips that you would need to destroy to remove 😑

Yes I've found this too. Ben at Penrith Volvo explained that dealer orders made to GCP from Australia….. get packed in a sea container and shipped in bulk. Had a 4-6 month wait in the early days with a side skirt & rear cargo trim order on my V40.

Lesson learnt. I've since made orders direct from GCP.

    Postage was fair

    Delivery times were super fast

    FUEL TANK BREATHER HOSE:

Everytime I fuelled up I would cover rhe forecourt floor with fuel. Common problem on the 850 is the fuel breather hose failing.

I replaced mine yesterday along with the funnel gasket. Although I need to source a new clamp for this gasket as mine has collected moisture and rusted slightly.

    3D PRINTING:

tried printing NLA parts such as the wiper shaft bush and the door lock mechanism bush (available but super expensive from skandix)

Trial 1 was a fail as they were too brittle. Trial 2 I'll add more flex additive.

    REAR MUDGUARDS:

These guards were an optional extra when buying a T-5R. They're NLA but I managed to source a NOS set from Tradera.

They've been sitting in my stock as I waited for the stone protection to arrive from GCP.

I finally received all the parts and installed.Only issue I encountered was the speed nuts that came with the guards didn't work - too short and the holes didn't align. I sourced correct size speed nuts to complete install.

Finally caught up again on this epic thread! Nice work. I find it funny that you work in your socks! 🙂 I love the blanket in the rear boot area…great colours to match the car. Keep up the good work.

Good work as usual mate , looking good
Are you going to upgrade the fuel pump at some time ? Something else to think about for future proof.
Some don't like the look of rear mud flaps , I prefer the look myself and remember the hassle of lining up the holes 😆

carnut222 Yeah, love working in my socks - there's a reasons for this:
The shed roof is so low (& I'm so tall) that if i wear footwear i run the risk of bumping my head. I'm talking mm precision haha
That blanket has spent many years in the boot of my 240 so had to have it in the T-5R - handy for placing things on or if i have a spill it protects the carpet (like what happened a few weeks ago) :-O

        rado
No plans to touch the fuel pump yet, it was something i was tempted to look at when i dropped the tank but decided not to. Any tips or reasons around upgrading?
I can understand both but my history of car ownership is to always run mudflaps so I'll stick to my plans and they actually look pretty decent on and complete the look imo

Current list of items to go through when i get home later this month:

          • Fill fuel tank and check for leaks
          • small paint corrections and spray jobs.
          • 3D print V2 of door latch & wiper bush, Petrol cap release motor repairs
          • Clean: Right side engine bay & side trim removal, interior ameretto,
          • Jaydee order: measure headlight wiring - 4mm,

Yep I agree , I like the look on mine with the mud flaps
Fuel pump .... mine failed and couldn't keep up with the upgrades plus it was the original hence pretty old .

rado ah gotcha, I'll stick with mine until it fails unless i get bored! haha
I'm currently over your neck of the woods - Harvey, WA

Harvey , be careful down there lol , an hour and 20 minutes south from me ..

rado does this remote not work with the 810 radio in your photo?

            • rado replied to this.

Johnno_ Looks the part in person, happy with the results. i have a couple of other items in mind that i must get around to purchasing

One of which is an all black RIP kit but this goes against my philosophy to keep it 'factory' but it would also compliment the tune and perhaps my turbo pipes are tired and worn out anyway,

                morch_66479
The one for sale ? Apparently that one works on the 801 not 810
