As life happened, I am going to spend some time in Australia. I needed a car for 2500 dollars to go work and found a 2010 XC90 D5 executive.
Having a 1.9 T4 whiteblock swapped 940 back home, plus some experience on P2 and P80 platforms, I decided to stay true to the brand an brought it home.
All the equipment works, I did 500km with it, got 9L/100km average, I love it. I have always wanted an XC90.
However there are a few mechanical things that formed the price to what it was. It has what sounds like a lifter tick, vacuum leak, egr is a bit leaky and power steering is not working at idle. Also new engine mounts would do good.
So my questions are as follows:
Is there a good source for B-parts in Australia or is genuine the only option?
Anyone who does remapping? I would like a small chiptune and egr-dpf turned off for a start. I am in WA, Perth area.
Finally any advice for the forementioned issues or in general? Some tips to help me keep this cheap new friend of mine reliable for a few years.
