What type of shifter is it - with extension (140 72+). or without (120, early 140, pre-71 1800)?
Early extension (pre 74) or late extension (74+)?
You'll need to consult the parts books. They show different springs in the 72 140 parts book that I looked at, for non-extension and extension.
