I went and looked at this for myself yesterday, but have decided that I have enough projects.

Unregistered, auto, single carb B20 car.
Had been loved by one owner for a long time, but had sat around for a couple of years after he died.

Good stuff:
No rust that I could see;
Runs and drives - can’t be too far from rego ready;
Generally unabused (see “bad stuff” for the exceptions);
Some minor dents, but no signs of serious damage;
Fuel tank and lines have been cleaned out recently;
Still has the small clip on hubcaps on the early style steel wheels.

Bad stuff:
Paint is very tired and has been badly touched up/repaired in the past. It’s the grey colour, but there’s probably four or five different shades on it, some of them woefully mismatched;

The horizontal part of all the seats is torn and split. Top of the rear seat has been repaired in the past so it’s still good;

Has (stupid and badly out of place) chrome twin exit exhaust tip, pointing slightly upwards (blast pipe style). No idea why;

Dash is cracked.

Car is located in southern Canberra. The owner is looking for around $5000 for it, but is negotiable for a quick and hassle-free sale.
I can supply his details for anyone who is serious.

Apologies for not taking photos, I wasn’t thinking about it posting it here at the time.

My knowledge of the year model is a bit scratchy. The old rego papers say 1/68 build date, but I don’t entirely trust them either.

Here’s the things I knew to look at:
No vents in the lower front apron;
No vents under the rear windscreen;
No headrests on the front seat;
B20A engine and matching grille badge;
Single piece aluminium grille.

IIRC, the last year of vents for rear window defrosting was up to Aug 1969. The 1-piece grille was not an Australian thing from Aug 1970 onwards, when the 144 de luxe was available in auto and a 3-piece grille.
