Hi, I recently bought a 2008 XC90 D5 with 295K KM on the clock. Recently on a rainy morning I noticed an oil slick from under the car. On investigation I found Oil all over the alternator and hoses near the power steering pump. I initially thought it might be the power steering pump. I got my son to actuate the steering wheel while I looked under the bonnet when the car was running. I immediately found that oil was gushing out the High-Pressure power steering Hose when we turned the steering wheel. The Leak was coming from where the metal pipe from the pump enters the metal crimp to the flexible hose. It is a terrible place to leak as it was showering the alternator in hot oil which I cleaned up as best I could and parked it at home. I have not driven the car since as I did not want to do more damage.

Does anybody have any advice on the best approach to resolve, should I get the part and try to ins
tall the hose myself, or should I get a professional and pay for the privilege.
The Volvo Dealer Quoted me $730.00 for the part, the person I spoke to was really nice and provided the part number. #30636902 which confirmed what I had found online with my VIN#
I contacted a number of wreckers and received 1 response Quote of $400.00 for a used one…
Skandix has the option to pre order a new one for about $530.00 including shipping to Australia which I am leaning to but it is still a lot for a hose and I still would need to fit it or find a good mechanic that can do it for me.
I tried some of the hydraulic hose companies to see if they could repair or replicate and I received no responses.
Has Anyone got any advice or perhaps has had a similar issue before.
