1971_144GL hey do you still have those k-jet parts? If you want them gone id be interested in taking the bulk lot off your hands as spares for myself. Otherwise no worries.

Maybe when ive finished the 144 ill have to take it on a journey down to Melbourne for a new bonnet. Havent seen anyone around sydney with a bonnet yet and the one off the parts car isnt really worth respraying. Too rusty.

Don't do only 2 hoses. All 6 will be well past their service life.

Roinik yep, ill replace everything, atleast everything near the engine, i dont want engine bay fire v2 happening. A fuel system with old hoses thats directly above a hot exhaust manifold isnt a great combination. The fire was almost definitely caused by old fuel hoses.

Roinik oh, you think its worth it? Even the clogged hoses are still pretty tough, they didnt break when i was messing with them, and on a redundant brake system i wouldnt think its worth worrying about too much?

Historically, hoses on the 140 swelled and that 1/8" hole constricted to 0" and no brakes. It's cheap insurance.

IT RUNS!!!!! and pretty well, seems rich and i cant workout the fuel mixture adjustment, i think it might be broken or something, although could be crappy fuel. Regardless no complaints! she runs great!

Took me rebuilding the fuel distributor. And then rebuilding it again when i stuffed it up.

No issues popped up aside from that. Hot start, cold start, all worka

If everything is working properly and there aren't any vacuum leaks (!), the mixture can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the throttle plate vs the plunger. There is a small hole in the top of the alloy throttle plate housing that you insert a 3mm allen key through and into the adjustment gru screw below. Small movements.

Roinik ok thanks, i tried what u said but with imperial allen keys.

I think i got it to turn slightly. Im guessing that because it stopped spitting black smoke and carbon, although its entirely possible it was just coughing out all the crap in the system.

Ill make sure everything is all right without vacuume leaks and such before i fiddle with it more.
