where are you located sam? i have a spare -89 and alex has a few of the others.
if your local melbourne i can get you my ported and T3 machined.
and all the intakes if you like. as the americans have been finding great results with the K-jet, which im about to play with.
Vee_Que
I have a ported 90 and non ported one and pre 90 manifold myself jay...

I should be in Melbourne by next week. Perhaps at one of the Friday Night Hangs I could grab one off you to see how it goes? Vacuum cleaner and maf is not a bad idea but they would have to be done at the same temp, and a vacuum cleaner wouldn't flow enough to register a difference.
Vee_Que
I can come past on a weekend or weekday as I am not far from you really sam.

What you actually need is a orifice plate and a manometer and a vacuum cleaner/source..... or if a manometer is not available a differential pressure sensor/ reading across the orifice plate could be taken and flow calculated from that..
BradC
Depending on the differential being measured a manometer is easy enough to make. If the pressure differential is enough to warrant mercury then there are loads of magnehelic gauges on e-bay, or an electronic differential pressure sensor is about $20-$50 at RS.

That's why I mentioned you Alex.
You have the bits I don't. But I also have a few bits I can hand over for a while.
Vee_Que
Your manifold will be on a car soon ;) I'll speak to my mate who does cylinder heads on the weekend.

so some of you know. ive recently changed my turbo and manifold over.
old
-89 square type manifold, TDo5HL-14b
new
90+ tube type ported, T3/4 ported.
the difference is considerable. (not taking into consideration the performance gains from the larger T3 turbo.)
the low rpm gains have been significant. so efficency has increased dramatically. im starting to spool positive pressure almost 1500rpm earlier.
GingerNinja
That's interesting about the low end gains. What are the details on the new turbo?

T3/4 hibrid. .63/.50 hot/cold
Alex ported and machined the 90+ Manifold for the t3 flange.
The low end gains are significantly noticeable.
Making positive pressure 1500rpm earlier than the previous set up. There were no other changes other than adapters to suit the plumbing.
So Alex and I both put that down to the fact that the manifold is flowing more air, with much less effort. Especially when we were fearing a later spool time
