I've replaced the whole front end with bilstein struts, Lovell lowering springs, and superpro bushes. I took the strut mount bearing apart, regreased it, and reused it. The ball joints, rack ends, and tie rod ends aren't old either. There was no noise directly after doing the work so I don't believe it's anything I've forgotten, but I don't drive the car often and it's not had many km's since the work.
I've tried shaking the car/rocking the wheel left and right + up and down/shaking the strut with the car on the ground and in the air but can't reproduce the sound, and I can't feel any noticeable play.
I can't feel it in the steering wheel or chassis, and braking or turning doesn't seem to affect it. Mostly just rough road seem to cause it.
My next plan is to go over all the bolts and see if something has come loose that I can't see or feel, but perhaps there's something easy I might be missing?
