I'm trying to locate the overdrive relay on my '91 240 sedan. Which colours are electrical cables. Help please. Kenneth.

The relay is under the dashboard between the centre console and steering column

I think there are six or so wires of all different colours

But it’s very simple, just need to reach down to where I said the relay would be, it’s not too hidden

Thankyou Ramrod. Someone has done a good job at concealing the overdrive relay on my 240.

What do you see? The relay in question should be blue. It might be clipped to the topside of the dash chassis, or it might be hiding behind the panel to the left of the driver's knee.

This is from the YM93 wiring Green Book, so it may be different to what you have.

I’ve always remembered that relay being white and rectangular

It is not hidden, have you removed the felt carpet concealing cover under the steering column?

Thankyou Adrian. Unfortunately,the OD relay on my 240 is turning into the equivalent of a whodunit. Haha!

Thankyou Ramrod for your kind assistance with my OD relay inquiry. I eventually after much searching found the relay. Auto electrics man tested the relay,and as suspected,is working intermittently. Can the relay be repaired? Or does it need to be replaced with a new part.
