SWE245L What exactly am I looking at and why does it leak when I touch the rubber? vid-20240312-1442583.mp44MB
jamesinc That's the clutch slave cylinder. It's leaking because the seal has failed. You will need to replace it with a new one, or rebuild your current one with new seals + hone. You might find you are slowly losing clutch fluid.
jamesinc I mean yeah you should fix/replace it promptly if you want to avoid getting stranded. In the meantime check and top-up your clutch fluid reservoir (use DOT4 fluid) regularly, if it bleeds out all the fluid the clutch will stop working.
SWE245L Yeah I'm taking it in tomorrow to have that and some other stuff looked at. Appreciate the help. My only other question would be is it meant to be at the very tip of the threads like that. Because when I seen this i got a bit more concerned
VolvoHordz There are two different styles of the rod coming out the clutch slave cylinder, the early all metal style you currently have, which is better than the other style with a plastic end like the one you found information on.
SWE245L VolvoHordz eh thanks a ton truly proven time and time again that joining this forum was the best thing I could of done.
