Hi all, I have the chance to buy a 850R.
The problem is, the guy pulled out the motor, and put in forged pistons and conrods.
What concerns me is reliability, and the extra stress on the engine …if they would even cause this.
Ive done some online searching, and many say its for high performance etc. I just want something reliable, which i can put my foot down every now and then.
All the seals, and the head gasket were replaced, so it basically an overhauled engine. What concerns me is the forged pistons and conrods. It has not been driven since these were put in.
The other concern, is the trans. If this has problems, whats the cost for a good overhaul? The reason Im concerned about that, is that the steering rack was also pulled out and reconditioned. So its at an age, where these things needed attention. The body is in good nick, but its no show car. He's done a lot of work, but Im hoping he has not created a weakness with the pistons and conrods.
Any feedback appreciated!
