trevingle45_ I am after a solid replacement for the rubber mounts for front strut stay. Have seen ones on utube but mention of source. Anyone got any advise?
TL_V70 Not sure on your year volvo but if your referring to strut tops these are the bees knees and won't wear out but you have to deep pockets. https://www.bneshop.com/collections
trevingle45_ Hi thanks for that info. My v70 t6 is 2008. It has the factory brace but it's mount at each end is rubber, I want to replace it with a solid mount.
Anth Mate do yourself a favour and buy these - https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-strut-mount-and-bearing-kit-lemforder-31277826kt They are OEM Lemforder strut mounts with bushings, strut bearings, and hardware. I have recently replaced mine. They are cheap the dollars are in the installation as you need to remove the whole strut. Pull the strut out if your confident with the spring compressor and replace , otherwise take it to a shop and they will do it for you. They are a common fail item!
Ex850R If you actually found solid strut tops to suit that car the bodywork in that area would crack, disintegrate and the shock absorber would shoot up through the bonnet…… You don’t put solid on them, BNE doesn’t make them either.
timbo I think you might be talking about the top engine torque mount? On the drivers side of engine bay
Ex850R timbo It is good upgrade on T6. But also buy new rubber Volvo mount that is underneath that torque arm., it is often overlooked.
trevingle45_ Thanks all. Great info. The possibility of cracking never entered my mind, will go to plan B and leave well alone. Many thanks again.
