O.P.
Hi all, I’ve an opportunity to purchase a used MY16 model at a great price.
A bit of online research suggests the early examples of the Volvo’s 4 cylinder 2.0 litre engine chewed thru oil due to design flaws in the pistons, sometimes causing irreparrable damage to the cylinder walls. Volvo issued a service bulletin in the USA/Canada. Don’t think the yanks got the V40 til 2017 when the piston design had been altered with the updated V40
Any help with this matter?
Hate to buy a lemon which would cost me big $ down the track. Conversely if it’s not an issue with the B4204T11 engine I’d hate to miss this opportunity.
Cheers
