So, my driver's door window switches - the one for all 4 windows - stopped working. This is on the danger circuit as vanity mirrors and under glovebox lighting for reference.
This has happened previously when I had exposed wire from the sun visor/vanity mirror cable touching bare metal after a roof lining replacement. This was a simple fix of insulating the cable and replacing the fuse ...once I found the issue.
Recently the fuse blew again. It was another hot day and I had the AC cranked for the drive to work. As I arrived at work 20 mins early I figured I'd swap the fuse while I waited. I stupidly didn't turn off the ignition as I wanted to keep cool. The new fuse sparked and blew instantly. I turned off the ignition and replaced the fuse again.
Turned on ignition and tried the window switch - all working as it should.
I did my shift, drive home, all was good. We had some pretty heavy rains - to which my car was exposed - and I didn't need to drive for a few days. When I started the car 3 days later I got the "SRS Airbag Service Urgent" message. I thought, as the SRS fuse is close to the switch fuse I'd possibly blown that too. I hadn't though.
I used P3Tool to diagnose as my Vida installation is being a pain, and it gave me error SRS-B002912. I reset it numerous times but it returns immediately.
What seems the likely cause? Any ideas, please?
I don't see any signs of water inside the car but could it somehow be in the drivers door? If so, do I need to disconnect anything before I remove the inner panel?
