General info:
This has been my daily for the past year and as been a pleasure to drive. Like all 240 auto wagons, driven sensibly, it takes its time getting to 110km but stays there happily. Goes surprisingly well when needed.
Engine is very good and does not use any oil, belts are all good, timing belt is good – no cracks. All trim in good condition. Dash has one small crack. Air conditioning nice and cool. Brakes excellent. Stereo receives Bluetooth and phone (built in mic). Tires approx. 50%. Floor mats excellent.
This car will easily do a long journey and did Wollongong to Brisbane in September with ease.
Spares (see pic) include:
Original Radio Cassette player (needs rear wiring clip), roof racks, service manual (you choose ONE – I keep the other for my next 240 … manual sedan), spare driver's seat (in blue cloth - currently in car)
shock mount (X1), Engine mount (RHS), A-Cam (better used in a manual), spare new belts, braided front brake hoses, rear door hinges, spare indicator lenses,
Ford Falcon 27mm sway bar, aluminum spacers
There are some other spares including: front grills, B or C pillar covers (in blue)
Also got a lot of 140 stuff if you’re interested.
Issues:
Nothing major and nothing urgent. Drive and enjoy. I was going to reshim the valve clearances but did not think it needed it (this is why timing cover is off in pic). There are two very small blisters of rust below windscreen. Odometer not working (currently 258000kms – my drive to work is 10 mins x5 days for 1 year (I have added 12000kms). Front end could be refurbished if you wanted to really tighten it up (I preferred the stock standard roll (most of a Falcon sway bar upgrade included). B and C Pillar and console cubby plastics cracked (2 blue replacements included).
Reason for selling:
Strangely, wife prefers the BMW 545 V8 which recently arrived.
Car listed elsewhere and may be withdrawn if sold.
