T5 gearbox swap into 93 940

Hi all, I bought a 93 940 Volvo and it has been turbo charged and manual swapped with a m46 gearbox and the guy also gave me a t5 gearbox out of an au tickford. The guy gave me a quick run down on what’s needed for the swap such as an adapter plate for the bellhousing, custom drive shaft, etc. but I have very minimal knowledge in that sort of stuff and I was wondering if someone could give me a whole list on what process I need to do to be able to do this including what I need to buy and where I can buy it and what I need to get machined and what places can do it.

Be prepared to change the gearbox input shaft

Length and number of splines are important factors

The T5 has to be identified to be able to work out what input shaft you need

Do you have a picture of the ID tag?

ramrod there are 10 teeth on the input shaft

Do you need to swap to a T5 gearbox? What are your power goals?

GingerNinja well, it’s just that it’s an old 4 speed over drive gearbox and all the gears feel like neutral so I’m thinking as soon as I put any power into it it’s going to blow

Myles18 there is certainly the chance that it'll pop with some decent torque going through it. I'm trying to get motivated to finish my T5 swap at the moment. I spent a lot of time reading over the T5 swap thread on here so I knew what to look for when buying a used gearbox.
