P3 XC70 upgrades

Hi all,
Recently been looking into a few things for my 2008 XC70. Just wondering if anyone has anything to chime in on what I've been thinking, please see below....

1) Tuning: it's a D5 - I know it's never going to be a sports car; however, I wouldn't mind a bit more performance. Anyone had experience with TDI tuning boxes on a D5? Otherwise, what about a Polestar Optimisation? Worth it?

2) Wheels: Wouldn't mind something a little nicer to look at down there. The ones I've got now are just a little boring. I've seen a few XC70s with 18s from later Volvos, any recommendations?

3) Bluetooth audio: I have Bluetooth phone streaming but not audio which sucks. I've seen GROM recommended a lot but it's a little pricey compared to some competitors (eBay, VIDA). Is it worth paying extra for or will a cheaper one do?

Just put Mr12Volt unit in S80D5 2008 , not tried the phone function but BT audio (or connect external amps/devices direct to unit) is great.
Am getting one in for my XC90V8 as well but with amps and new speakers and tablet for NAV and a Pioneer esoteric deck for tunes.
Also got a diesel TDI Tuning Box say here ready to send to TDI to swap it to Volvo for the S80 as my experience with one on V60T6 was epic, no need for expensive P* tune for very little....
Call Berry Motor Group and talk to Mark about what you need for the D5 going forward and where to buy the cheapest bits if not from BMG. Im up for valve train parts at about $500 from UK plus install.
Any Volvo wheels are good except later models have to be centre bored.

Thanks heaps for the reply! Will look into all points. Good to know about the wheels and centre boring.

In regard to calling BMG for future parts, is it recommended to do those things when adding a tune?

With parts I mean the ones that fail and even big repair parts like gearbox , driveshaft, haldex etc.
Mark can get pricing better than any on Volvo supplied stuff, you get 2 year warranty with them.
Stuff like oil , air filters, haldex service kits, from FCP Euro.
The advice that BMG can give is from experience in repairing Volvo, they also wreck them so used parts are good too.

Ah yes of course. I'm very diligent with my standard servicing. All preventative maintenance has been done in the past year (belts, tensioners, trans) so should be all good there. Thanks heaps

Haldex has a service kit from FCP Euro.
Trans every 40,000 perhaps. ( proper evacuation and fill at a transmission shop is best.
If in Melbourne, Jim Walton Transmissions do the service on ours plus the rebuild with better parts and valve body.
Beware the radiator failing and cross contamination of trans fluid and coolant. Static pressure test it at this age, maybe new one to prevent expensive repair.
Trans cooler agreat idea.
