Sydney Preferred Volvo workshop

With Joe Lupica retiring, my Volvo guy, I need to find a new workshop to look after my cars. My XC90 has a noisy RH front wheel bearing, which is a job that I can't tackle at home. I'm near Parramatta, but willing to travel for the right place.

I'd suggest Savvas Automotive, they do great work - only problem is they're in Alexandria. But if you're heading towards the airport....

Check if Rockauto still has Timken ones, I might have bought the last two but they restock.
Bargain price for quality.
Can do it yourself if you have good jack and strong arms or rattle gun.

Got the jack and the rattle gun, strong arms might be the problem. I assumed a press would be needed, looks like it's a bolt on hub. No pressing required. I will give it a go. Thanks for the help.

I think those have sealed bearings one piece with the hub

See your chassis number, on front of door aperture of the door
They specify above or below certain number for correct part.

Back injury is why I no longer try to work on cars. Working on motorcycles is much kinder to your body.

I have a similar conundrum, the guy I've been going to for the (modded) Volvo is happy to continue to look after the Volvo, but since his son finished his apprenticeship at the workshop & he's back to a one-man operation he's ditching all the menial stuff & concentrating on strange problems with old cars or working on race cars.
So for my wife's car, a VF Commode, I asked Marty of MCM for any recommendations (their sheds are at Gladesville & Gladesville's not far from me at North Ryde nor from Eastwood). He reckons Sam at EK Automotive is the way to go. Rego comes up in 2 months, that's when I'll be checking it out.
