So there is an issue which has come up with the family workhorse and was wondering if I may get some input. 2006 2.5T with 285,000km on the clock. During normal driving, when you hit the brakes, sometimes you get the feedback like ABS has engaged - even at very slow speed. Sometimes when you drive off in the morning, at around 20km/h, car goes into some kind of limp mode and you hear like the ABS is engaging and a sound of rushing fluid. This brings up the ABS light. When you stop engine and restart, all is well again. Cruise control also feels weired..its like the car is pushing and pulling. It maintains the speed but you can feel its not smooth. I have cleaned all ABS sensors. Also sometimes if you do a tight turn e.g. in a roundabout, the DSTC light flashes and engages briefly and the car goes into some sort of brief limp mode.
I have not scanned the car with a VIDA / DICE yet. Made an order for just yesterday from ebay..fingers crossed that it actually works - however, was wondering if anyone here has had this issue before and if they know the symptoms of BCM/ABS module failure.? I'm assuming all these systems are connected?
The car is now parked - going into limp mode while negotiating a roundabout is not an ideal situation.
Cheers!
