Today some re-timing of the cams using the cam locking tool that bolts up to the rear of the cams. Checked the crank mark and also my previous timing marks on the cam gears all was well everything was lined up. The timing on the back seemed a little bit off but the tool could still fit on with the bolt in place. cranked the tool down tightened everything then reassembled.
Did a few rotations of the crank by hand thinking there was a bit more resistance than usual but the plugs were still in so thought nothing of it. Did a double check of everything and all the marks still lined up.
Now the car wont start and I'm getting the feeling that the resistance was the valves getting smoooshed.
Compression test shows about 120-125psi on all cylinders, cold engine, throttle closed.
I've tested before the car before but it was so long ago cant remember if it was 155 or 125.
I did put some stress on the cam position sensor wire accidentally and I've had the same weird no start before from a failed one. The do have some tiny wires so I'm hoping i've just broken the connection.
Is it possible to bend the valves by hand and what's the likelihood I have?
Going to go through everything tomorrow and double check it but not really sure where to start if everything is lined up and where it should be?
