Hello everyone, I'm new to the Forum.
I have a modified 2011 C30 T5 R-design and I'm thinking about the possibility of having my car engineered. It's my daily driver and I drive a lot so it would be nice to have peace of mind when driving around normally or in case I get pulled over. I know absolutely nothing about going through the process of having a car engineered so I wanted to get your guys' opinions on it and ask a few questions.
Which mods do I need to have engineered? Are there any that aren't certifiable? Does it matter who the part is made by?
I hold a full licence and live in NSW.
Certain mods are going to be more noticeable than others, you can hear my induction and exhaust modifications but I don't think someone's going to crawl under the car and check what turbo I have unless I get defected. Regardless, I will include all modifications current and planned for the sake of completeness.
My current more are:
-Turbo intake piping with a pod filter (needs closure)
-Bigger intercooler and piping (turbo to IC, IC to TB)
-3" 200cell downpipe from OEM Denied
-3" catback exhaust system with mufflers from KMS Thunderstorm (not too loud)
-Coilovers from BC Racing (sensible ride height)
-BOV
-Aftermarker shift knob with H-pattern
Planned mods:
-AWD conversation (I'd like to put an AWD badge on when complete)
-K16 turbo
-731cc Injectors with adaptors
-2 step colder sparks plugs
-Stage 4 tune
-wider wheels
Butterfly exhaust control valve for quietness
-custom made mud flaps
-Front splitter, side skirts, maybe some diffuser fins, etc.
I'm almost certain that a decat would disqualify the car from being engineered but that could be done after the certification is complete if frequent emissions testing isn't required.
Thank you in advance if you read through my post and chime in with your experience and knowledge.
