04 v70r advice please

Sadly , i believe it best to not buy it.
Look at all the posts on here about that gearbox in the XC and S60 models , it is expensive to fix and seems to then gail again.
But , talk to @iceton1975‌ , Mark , he fixes em , has 2 of them , S and V models and knows whats what.

Suspension is probably not terrible. Gearbox likely is although the R's are torque limited in 1st and 2nd so tend to be less prone to dying as quickly. If the deal is really good and it will be weekend type car then go for it but budget the few thousand at least for a good DIY gearbox fix at least.

Gearbawx will be about $5k to fix properly inc labour for someone else to do it

Suspension might just be the switch and nothing else

I had the issue of active suspension issue was the computer for the 4c, cost to replace and upload was $1700, to replace the shockers they are $250 each from Rockauto in the US, here they are $1440 each from volvo,
Rebuild the tranny or replace with new volvo unit, a new volvo unit will cost just under $6000.
If your getting the car for under $4000 buy it!, if not walk away, I have 3 Rs for sale now. call me 0434 897144.

How much is the R? In WA obviously....
Wonder if gearbox will make the trip here...

I'm with snoopy how much is it as part from it could be good for a project I want to undertake and I don't need the gearbox or suspension
