1982 model, factory manual. Above average bodyshell, in mostly good, mostly original factory paint (has old repair to rear quarter). Never crashed as a road or a rally car. 316,000km from new, only four rallies since being built.
CAMS log book. Log booked as Prodction Rally Car, easy conversion to IPRA regs, or Club Rally car.
Motor.
Quad TBs on custom manifold. Professionally ported head, with SuperTourer copy cam, big valves etc - has the realistic potential to make ~140kW ATW.
550cc injectors from RX-7 turbo.
4-1 extractors.
Microtech MT8 fuel & ignition ECU. Coil per plug.
B230 bottom end with rear thrust bearing. RSI pistons & rods, balanced. Has done about 5,000km since being built, made ~115kW ATW with different head/intake/exhaust. Not fitted!
Also includes factory original B23E bottom end still sitting in the engine bay.
Adjustable cam gear from DVS.
2.5" exhaust.
2x VL Turbo fuel pumps (Bosch 041?) and surge tank.
Gearbox.
Currently fitted with freshly reco-'d M46 that is hard to get into 1st gear (suspect bent selector fork).
Will come with complete M45 & tailshaft.
Diff.
Factory LSD with new 4.56:1 ratio.
Suspension.
50mm ex-TTE front strut inserts in custom legs. King springs.
Near-new Bilstein HD rears. 245 rear springs.
Plated control arms, near new urethane bushes.
Interior.
Bond bolt-in steel cage (meets current regs), with two intrusion bars and a harness bar in the hoop.
No seats currently fitted, but is set up for Velos.
Brantz International Tripmeter, Terraphone Pro.
Battery in back seat area.
Roof vent.
Custom alloy fuel tank of ~75 litres capacity, in boot. This tank leaks and needs a repair. I think I'd prefer to replace it with an Ebay fuel cell.
Brakes.
Converted to front-rear split (not diagonally split).
Slotted front rotors.
Ferodo DS2500 pads all 'round.
Hydraulic handbrake.
Wheels.
Eight or more 15x6 Sirius alloys (ex-early 760), all with 205/65 MRF rally tyres.
Tyres are all in good rally-worthy condition (no junk).
Spares/options/other bits.
Aerotech steel-framed race seats.
4-point seat-belt buckle harnesses (non-expiring type).
Fairly fresh balanced B23E bottom end (has surface rust in two bores - will need a hone at least).
Early M40 gearbox with 3.13 first gear, and all parts to fit to a 240.
Heaps of panels - at least one of everything.
B230F motor.
Turbo, -90 exhaust manifold, big aftermarket intercooler.
Whole spare road-worthy (but unregistered) 1982 244GL in the same colour.
Good solid car, with a LOT of potential. Handles and stops very well. If it does not sell, then I will fit the B230F and +T it, and go from there.
Car is located in Yass, southern NSW (Canberra-ish).
Price... I dunno... I'm gonna take a huge hit on it no matter what (scary but true: It would cost well over $10k to build it again...). Ring me and talk to me if you're interested in any/all of it - I am realistic about what stuff is worth.

Will get photos up soon.

Would the cage fit a 242?
Spac
Yes.
But removing the cage from the shell makes the shell & log book worthless, so I am not keen to sell the cage unless the shell has already been sold.
Unless you offer me proper money for the cage... It's about $1400 + freight to replace the cage.
volvodriverman
Thought you'd say that. If you do sell the shell minus cage I'm keen, it probably makes more sense to get a steel cage built as I got quoted just under a grand for a cams approved cage but the convenience of the bond cage is tempting...
Spac
A grand is good! Is that just for the bent steel that you have to weld in yourself, or for an installed cage?
If the latter, then just do it! :)
Ben
So drool worthy! Can I sell you a testicle? Choice of side included...
volvodriverman
Yeah that's fitted, bloody bargain I thought!
Spac
I'm not exactly sure what I would do with another man's testicle?!
But thanks for the offer anyhow...
VDman, you won't beat that price.
Spac
FWIW, I'd be happy with $5k for EVERYTHING, and am happy negotiate - particularly happy to down-spec it to fit someone's budget.
Spac
So I've taken a deposit on the motor.
From here, I'm not sure if I want to fit a turbo motor (and keep it) or make it available with the race car's old B23E.
Price has dropped significantly if it goes with the B23. I know of a twin DCOE Weber manifold sitting around... I think that the best answer would be to slap a pair of 45DCOEs and a distributor onto the B23E.
egads
Still got it? I am interested, pending cash from selling v70.
Spac
Still got it.
Be very happy to see it go to a good home. ;)
egads
V70 is sold so definitely want this and will have cash in a couple of weeks.
Spac
Cool. Suits me!
:)

:-D
Dauntless
Would you sell the DCOE manifold?
Spac
I don't own it... So yes? :D
Seriously, Egads and I still need to nut out the fine details, and I still need to work out WTF I'm doing with the dunger GT I just bought. I will let you know if it is available after all that.
egads
If GT needs bits off rally car I am happy to have a more stripped back car, really looking for the cheapo option for a log booked rally car. Similar idea to your old 164 rally car.

Sounds good to me. I'm hoping I'll be able to bolt on some DCOE pattern ITBs without needing to hack everything up to make it fit.

My Hayabusa TBs and manifold might be available?
