clinton Something must be funny with the light in the photo, because they look way darker than mine. I was even thinking of getting redone in a darker colour :-) Mine look something like this: Yours again:
Rob They come in 2 different colours, most of the Canisto's I have seen are silver but they also came in anthracite

Rob This weekends update. I decided to have a crack at repairing the 850R front bar. First up I cut some sheet metal and riveted it on the inside to hold all of the broken pieces in place., I countersunk all of the rivets to ensure they didn't protrude. I intentionally left the sheet metal oversized and with some corners lifted , I then filled the lower section with an expanding foam. The intention was to give the front bar some body and stiffen it up a bit. It worked a treat and it now feels nice and solid but still has some flex. I then cut a chamfer on all of the joints using a stanley knife and filled all of the gaps with a polyurethane glue, I also filled over the rivet holes. After everything was hard I cleaned it all up with a grinding/scouring pad on a grinder and scuffed up the whole area with some 150 sandpaper. I then mixed up a bit of filler (made specifically for semi-flexible panels) and spread it on, sanded it back and sprayed it with some primer/filler. I was struggling with sanding it back to a suitable standard without having it fixed to anything so I decided to fit it back up to the car. It still needs a bit of sanding and a little more filler but it will be much easier with the car holding it solid. Once it is all nice and smooth I will paint it white, I only want to paint once so I will wait until the front bar, rear bar, spoiler and rear 1/4 are ready to go. Pretty happy with it . I used the curing time to refit the headlining and fit the replacement RH headlamp, headlamp wiper motors and wiper stops. I also fitted a new RH fog light.
egads (she/her) Looks good and 2 tone effect is intriguing. If below the trim on the doors was blue combined with a blue roof that would look ripper IMO.
jagardh iirc, the cross country came out in two tone. It was silver with a darker grey below the trim on the door.
Rob jagardh;46601 wroteLooks great! Think I need to do the same to my bumper. @jagardh I will gladly do yours for you. At least get it up to the stage that mine is now. Yours will need alot less work, the crack is closed already so probably wont need rivetting. I highly recommend the foam filling.
Ex850R Good idea filling it. Did you consider plastic welding? I would like to see the side trim in white as well as the bumpers fully painted too , like my r was ( but red...) door handles off a white x70 and its a modern look that works on the 850.
Rob Ex850R;46613 wroteGood idea filling it. Did you consider plastic welding? You cant actually weld polyurethane, I have watched several videos on how to fill the gap using a plastic welder but figured polyurethane glue could be no worse and I don't have a plastic welder. I think i will try and track down some X70 door handles. not 100% sure about the painted side moldings and bumper tops. I think I like the look of the grey. Not sure yet though.
clinton My dad had a bumper (albeit on a newer car) repaired by plastic welding. During re-installation they were rough, and it popped open along the weld and had to be redone. Second time around it lasted until he sold it. I think your construction with the sheet metal looks far more solid, and is probably now the strongest part of the bumper!
AshDVS Looks great. Thats exactly how we'd repaired both my 850R bumper and the V70R bumper on my V70.
egads (she/her) Looks like a neat way to do it @nickm. Especially like non stick blue to not make it a sticky nightmare to do.
