jamesinc My Costco jack (the Arcan one) has a problem. It can still lift itself up, but it can't really lift additional weight. I've found this is because one of the hydraulic cylinders is jamming at the bottom of its stroke. I can free it up with the pipe wrench, but it just sticks next time I pump the jack. Anyone had this issue/knows how to resolve it?
CamZH Buy a jack from somewhere that sells automotive parts/tools ? Or take it back to them and ask them to fix it

Ex850R The thing with big stores like that , they want you to come back and tell your mates how good it is so i reckon they may swap it , it is sure worth a try but if yours is the older version it lifts higher and sits lower than the one they stock now which was made stronger as some of the older ones have been breaking ( in the body i assume as they are using steel in the design as well ) Good luck!
CamZH a friend of mine has one of these: http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/J043 Looks nice and works well.
Tzantushka Take it back to Costco. Their replacement policy is awesome. Best of all - if YOU bought it - they have a record of your purchase, so no hassles with receipts. If you encounter resistance from the counter jockey, then be polite & mention it's a safety issue with their product not working as intended.
