FCP/IPD order [TAS/VIC/NSW]

Hey guys,

Is anyone looking to order some stuff from IPD or FCP anytime soon? Prefer to split shipping to Tassie, but can also organise to have my stuff picked up from NSW or Vic.

This is good idea if reasonable , as in , i dont mind paying a little more to keep our local industry going , plus the peeps are on here and very helpful.
Imagine a warranty claim on a part that you pay postage back to the states on......

A mate has a V70 NA and looked at all the prices to do timing , WP and tensioners and belt , it was worth getting Berry's to do it for not much more plus you dont have the hassle to get that bloody water pump out!!

What did out end up buying? That looks like a 960 wagon. Try the cost of parts from places like berry. But ultimately doing a group buy isn't worth it for cheaper postage imo.

and given there is USPS if the aussie distro dont have any feasable shipping options at the time .

These sorts of group buys can get pretty tricky to organise and keep fair for everyone involved, as you have to split up the cost of both the domestic and international postage among everyone, some people will order heavy parts like a set of shocks, and others will just order a few gaskets, so splitting the postage costs equally isn't fair in these cases.

I love fcp and do about two orders a year, but I always do the orders alone or sometimes with one other person, because it just gets too complex and time consuming otherwise.

The killer cost with USPS is length. Recently Mr. Chair from TB grabbed me a weatherstrip for a 142, which is rather long - and the USPS doesn't like sending long poster tubes inexpensively. This also means that shipping for long but lightweight things - e.g. sway bars - can get jolly expensive.

My cost on a v70 timing belt kit (w hydraulic tensioner)with new tensioner/rollers and wp is under 200aud
Somehow I doubt berrys is less then 500

Ps fcp / ipd are now a rip off for half your volvo needs
Compare everything to Rockauto and then make a choice

Ive never had to do a warranty claim on anything

Agree USA charges for anything long e.g. even a front strut are way expensive. I had no choice but to complain to IPD when a simple 850 front strut was rated too long, and an oversize charge was applied. IPD saw my point and quickly adjusted the freight price down by near 50%.

The joke is I imported a 3 piece 240 front spoiler from Sweden recently and it cost next to nothing comparatively and it was a very long package.
