Dauntless
I'm planning a diff swap on my 90 745T.
The desired result is a 4.1 ratio LSD, so I'll most likely start with the diff from my 93 940GL.
Now for the LSD/locker options. I'd prefer an LSD that works really well, however I could probably live with an auto locker, especially as they're generally cheaper, stronger, and easier to install.
Options that I know of:
LSD from a Jeep XJ. Reportedly can be rebuild to work well, I guess $300 plus rebuild.
Wavetrac from Kaplhenke. Don't know much about them, $900USD + shipping.
Powertrax No Slip. Designed to be the best of both LSD and lockers, $470USD + shipping
Aussie Locker. Basic agricultural auto locker, strong and cheap $250 USD + shipping.
I'm not really sure which way to go at this stage. The Aussie Locker is probably the easiest to install, but the worst to live with in a daily driver. Leaning towards the Powertrax at this stage.
Where should I source an upgraded rear end bush kit? I'm keen to at least get poly for the panhard bar.
What parts should I swap in the diff at the same time, apart from the obvious like wheel bearings?
I'm thinking I should upgrade the rear subframe at the same time?
Anything else I should know?
Cheers,
Adrian

I was always happy with fresh rubber bushings on the tentacle wagon
The subframe only needs to be done when you put the manual into the car
There is also the trutrac and the hydraloc
Eaton also makes the funny one I have in the tentacle wagon which is a clutch plate lsd with electric lookup
So I just flip a switch on the dash and get instant locked diff

I put poly bushes on the subframe arms. No hassles there. I have the 4.1 diff with the aussi locka, it Is not intrusive at all. Unlocks easily but does make a bit of noise at low speed which I barely notice in the car. The springs in them aren't bad I thought compared to the ones I drive on trucks. You can even try my car in august as I'll be in Sydney then. Not sure how long you plan to do this in.
No need to do anything other than wheel bearings and even then not really worth it because they won't be damaged.
