Got the car back running again today, bit of silcone lubricant on the pipe and some additional elbow grease and the lower heater pipe popped right back in again, and the new clip just slid right on. Refilled the coolant (although dad insisted on using 33/66 mix listed on the bottle instead of the recommended 50/50 in the manual, dunno if that will really matter. Will find out if it does fairly quickly :P). Heater still doesn't seem to want to work so I'll leave it for a few days parked with the car tilted so the heater core hoses are above the core to see if any air bubbles work their way out. Also need to get a DICE cable so I can probe the ECC system to see if all the flap motors are working as they should.

Adam's V70R? You're missing my point again, between the front end sheet metal differing from V70/S60s and the different locations of everything in the engine bay, the same FMIC install just does not work on S80s. Other people have gone through that pain and have found that as well. You end up having to neck down to 2" just to run tubing.
