Looking for suggestions on P2 V70 lower control arms

I may need some collective wisdom from the local experts.

The front control arms on the V70R are tired and need replacing - This is the second set of bushings in the life of the car.
They currently have SuperPro poly in them, but I’m looking to go back to OE feel.
What do you guys suggest?

IPD HD LCAs?
Back to Volvo OE?
Or is there another alternative locally?

I’d like to do this in the driveway on jackstands – possible?

Urethane isnt a great material to use in LCAs on some later Volvos. They typically have a short service life, this would be accentuated on R models or cars with aftermarket springs and lower profile tyres too.

You'd have found that the urethane bushes here would have given more harsh/road feel feedback through the steering wheel, particularly on coarse chip asphalt mix roads.

I'd replace the bushes with either genuine Volvo rubber (with metal shell) or very good aftermarket bushes.

The front urethane bushes work really well - it's the rear ones that are exposed to more shear forces.
Plus I have the sub-frame inserts.

In hindsight, the optimal set-up would have been urethane fronts, rubber rears and new subframe bushes!

So the subframe bushes were too much?
I see the IPD ( and someone on VS 3D printing their own ) inserts to the STD rubber to stiffen them on P1 cars but expect new Volvo ones to be the go.

I am looking for LCA mount bushes for the 4 bolt LCAs on the 1998 V70R , it is annoying to have a different type to the 2 bolt LCA as i have the aluminium early ones that the bush and the balljoint can be replaced on.
Must look to see if they can be interchanged , if the holes are still in the subframe for the older LCA mounts....

Yep, having poly in BOTH the subframe and LCA bushes made for great handling, but excessive NVH levels for a daily driver and my sorry arse.

Dont need to hear about yer arse, just the details MAN!!

I think the P2 is WAY better ( or maybe softer?? ) than the P1 which i regard as a crash bang wallow on our roads.
I am seeking nice springs for a coil over project that can maybe give a bigget range of movement an so allow some absorbtion of the crashes ( NVH ) but have better control as well....
Long term project..
Has yours got the electric adjust dampers?

Yep - it's an '04 R, so it gets very crashy in sport and advanced.

I reckon the best bet for your long term project is to get a BMW.
They seem to be the masters in getting suspensions right.

go back to standard, as for the springs try the IPD springs only chat to people who have these cars and know how they work, I have 3- 2x S60Rs and one manual V70R your only in the next suburb pop in, polys on this model will have your nuts in your mouth, sports is nice advanced is teeth shaking

I'm looking at keeping the stock springs.
It's the bushings I'm concerned about.

You are suggesting OEM control arm bushes - correct?
