140/160/240/260 switch

I am after one of the big rocker switches that will fit in one of the blank panels in the centre of the dash of my 164.
I don't care what it is currently used for or what colour it is (unless i have a choice) but it must be a 3 position switch and must hold in all 3 positions, a momentary switch is no good to me.

I have no idea if there is even such a beast but i figured it was worth a try before i fit some out of place aftermarket thing.

@jamesinc @Gordo_79 I dont suppose either of you part out cars have anything like this?

Haven't seen a three position one that I am aware of....except the momentary ones for power Windows etc.
I did find a new old stock accessory switch for that position but only two position.
It was purple!

if all else fails i will probably use 2 switches instead of 1 x 3 position switch.

I have 1 x orange switch, haven't seen another.

Apparently a 262c interior light switch is what i am looking for .. good luck finding one.

Crazy enough that may still be available from Volvo perhaps?

An SWF switch is what you need. They are almost identical to the 240 series (81 on) and will fit the centre console, by widening the hole by 1 mm.

I got mine from Keith Wallington of Fry's Spares: http://www.frysspares.com - you can choose the coloured insert, the pictogram on it etc too. If you need a copy of the SWF full catalog, I have a copy of one somewhere on my computer, or some Googling will get one for you.

There used to be a guy on TB that made OE looking stickers for those switches if it comes to that.

Sorted. Take on electric antenna switch and remove the back, remove the 2 springs that force the switch back to centre and put it back together.
Sand away the writing with some fine sandpaper so that it no longer has all that antenna business on it.
Ignore the - pin and it works as a standard on-off-on switch. In being the + terminal output 1 is terminal 1 and output 2 is terminal 2.

Works a treat and perfect fit. Really didn't want to have to use anything aftermarket.

@carnut1100 believe it or not I came across a nos purple accessory rocker switch during my search. So now I have one of those too.
