markc88 Duncan Hi and thank you, up very late. Too much of a project I suspect and I am in the middle of restoring a handful of other cars at the moment. Would be nice if I could get something I can buy and drive around in the same month! cheers mark
iceton1975 If you provide, new clutch and new slave , it could be done for about $1300 call us 03 98745544
Rallybomb I had a conversion done a few years back. It cost $1200 including 2nd hand geabox. so $1300 is right. I love it. If You can get a T5 conversion done for a little more then go for it. The M47's Syncro is a little weak in 3rd gear. Well at least I have a weak 3rd gear synchro and I have seen others mentioned it so it is a cominality.
Rallybomb Yes I've noticed a little shudder in 1st gear when going up a steep hill at full throttle. But I cant be sure if it's anti knock kicking in or bad engine mounts. I've noticed stronger clutch kits are available but I guess they will just help to blow your internal bearings quicker. Having said that My engine has blown up 1st before the gearbox.
A_Volvo_Driver Vee_Que;39013 wroteThe m46/7 manuals are good if you drive like an old man. Drive hard and they fail easily. Does the same go for the M45 box in my car? I don't drive like an old man.
Vee_Que With a turbo in front of it. Expect it to die sooner rather than later. The na torque isn't enough for it.
Rallybomb http://www.turbobricks.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27119 Heres a decent thread on Turbobricks on the M47 I will let you know how my M47 goes in a few months to a year as my turbo will be creeping over the 200HP mark by then.

It's an '88 B230FT. I saw the engine start and run and didn't hear any ugly noises from it.
