AussieVolvo Hi all I am in the process of removing the dash top in a 93 850 to do a gear in the odometer I have the speaker grills and speakers removed the screws from each end of the dash pad the screws in the centre and RH vents removed the three screws along the top of the glove box The dash to comes up every where apart from the section in between the glove box and the centre vent Where are the screws or bolt holding that part of the dash together
Ben Isn't there a tab that that part of the dash that comes out and over the vents slots into? The slot that stops the side near the center vents from peeling up so to speak. As per here, on the right:
AussieVolvo Hi I found the tab not long after posting the message. It is at the lower RH corner of the vent panel in the pic above. The previous owner had a liking for glue and managed to glue the tab and that section dash top to the dash frame. It all apart now the cluster apart now with the gear ready to be replaced
Ex850R Strengthen all the dash mounts with light gauge aluminium sheet and windscreen glue. There are details on Mathews Volvo Site or Volvospeed I believe.
egads (she/her) Can you take some pics of a 93's dash mounting? I think they can be different and the different ones are missing from the guides.
