Hey,
What is the correct tyre size for 17 inch Volvo wheels? And is this the correct tyre size for a 240?
What are other people running?
I'm looking at putting17 x 7 Propus wheels on my 240 wagon.
TIA

Ooh, the Propus' wheels look similar to the ones which will eventually go onto mycar

Same as what I'm using on the front of my 740. 205/45/17. I'm using the maxxis victra m35 tyre and they feel pretty good. Aren't too noisy and overall are grippy too.

How's your speedo reading with that size Alex?
Well hurry up then Scott!

Lol Joe, baby steps. I'm waiting on the current tyres to need replacing before buying a new set for the 16's

Im using 225/45/17 on the rear and my cars stock wheels are 195/65/15 apparently. Speedo was reading fast with that. 205/60/15 read 5kmh faster. 195/60/15 ran faster again. With the 225/45/17 tyres they are bang on exact.
There are sites that calculate the size difference for tyres and speedo too.

Factory tyre size for 850 with 17" wheels was 205/45/17 (850R, etc).
Factory tyre size for V70R and C70 with 17" wheels was 215/45/17.
215/45/17 is typically cheaper than both 205/45/17 and 215/40/17. On a 240, which you have fairly open guards and a fair but of space, I'd run 215/45/17 - you shouldnt have an issue with rubbing. Your net offset should be ET11 (wheels are ET43 and the spacers you're using are 32mm thick.)

Thanks for your help fellas, I'll get around to a few places in the morning to check out prices/sales, etc.

A1 will have lots of 215/45/17 or you can find some good deals on Federal stuff online.
You may stuggle with them to get some 205/45/17 if you want to go that way.

As said. Im happy with the maxxis tyres and the 205s were cheaper than 215/225.
