Hey guys!
So finally after almost 2 weeks, mums forever car is finally in our driveway.
As some of you may know, its a late 2005 (model year 2006) XC70, Lifestyle Edition. It has pretty much everything on it. Everything mum wanted anyway, plus a bit more. It's dark blue with a taupe interior. Mum wanted a red one but she also loves the blue. The interior is like new, not a mark to be found. It has only done 68,300 kilometers. So if my 97 with 230 on it is a baby, then this thing hasn't even being conceived yet. I'm madly in love with the newer headlight and tail-light design, and the silver roof racks, so I've officially decided that one day I'll retrofit those, but anyway, this is about mums car.
So this is going to be her forever car. She paid the full price for it but we dont even care. It's going into Berry Motor Group with my '97 for a roadworthy this Monday, it should sail through, and then it will be registered basically sometime in early January.
The thing drives amazing, I've had a short drive, it's very smooth, I'm so so jealous that when you actually select reverse or drive on the shifter, it goes straight in, in my car its a 45 minute wait and then a big clunk. Mum's idle does seem a little lower than mine though and the engine feels like it should be idling higher. I'm sure its nothing.
Cosmetically its pretty much perfect bar a minor scratch on the rear drivers side door. Nothing a good touch up couldn't fix.
Anyway, we're absolutely in love with it, and pleased to welcome it to the (seemingly ever-growing) Volvo family.
