telling everyone where you need them to be picked up from and delivered to and see if anyone can help.
There are a fair selection of people here that do a fair bit of travelling around, often we can help get things from place to place.

Cheers Rob , your 23.5 hours on here and instant access to links needed is invaluable!

Forum members like to help each other out, and can deliver things as they go around the country. For example, the leather seats that I bought off Mike in Sydney. Ryan was going to Sydney, so on the way back home, he took the seats to Griffith. I then picked them up from Griffith, cutting about three hours of travel time each way :)
So, depending on where your wheels are, someone might be able to collect them for you, store them until you're ready to travel, or arrange for someone to get them to you.

BTW Richard , what do these wheels look like??

Like the wheels!

Haven't heard back from seller....I am on long school holidays ATM, so I have heaps of time for a road trip, but might get a quote for freight and compare to estimated cost of me picking up.
Anyway - is there any means by which I can find out where/when the 244 was first sold? I have checked w/RMS and was first regoed in NSW in 1988 which means it was first sold interstate....Volvo computer system only goes back to 1995....
Ex850R
E-Go couriers will be WAY cheaper than fuel costs but the a ROAD TRIP is always fun!

Wait, what's going where?
Ex850R
Will be $10-15 each wheel via E-Go Melb to Bris.

Update: Wheels seem to have fallen through. Seller hasn't returned any communication in the 6 days since auction finished. So in a few hours time I will begin the process with PayPal to get a refund. This is very unfortunate for I really wanted the wheels.
Anyway, from Volvparts I got a 'new' steering wheel shipped out, mine is all twisty and loose on the rim in the top half. $110 delivered. Yesterday at wreckers I also found an original set of Volvo floor mats for ....$5!
Last day of term radiator hoses and timing belt kit arrived courtesy of super cheap auto online store, so I'll be replacing those when I'm back home in new year.
I have the Volvo with me over Xmas holidays. Some things I've noticed.
- Mixed rural/urban driving is returning 12L/100km which is high for an injected 4cyl car. I think it might be running a bit rich. Could anyone suggest some things I might check? Car has roof racks fitted..
- from empty on fuel gauge to full, can only get in 45 litres max (60 litre tank?)
- are the bumpers painted black or moulded black?

What wheels do you want? I have a few different period aftermarket and Volvo ones I would happily part with. I am also just down the road so no drama to get them. @Spac around the corner will have even more but is away at the moment.

Re: wheels-what do you have? Would prefer early 80s 14 inch factory wheels.

Also....dash pad is cracked to buggery. Dashboard doctor wants $550 plus freight to repair it. Secondhand ones in my colour (black) don't seem to be available. At this stage looking to cover cracks with black tape and cover it all with the carpeted dash mat I have also recently acquired. At maybe $700 for something that will be covered anyway just not economical.
I have also contacted Volvparts to see if they have a working stereo, as my tape player is kaput...

It seems impossible to find an uncracked dash. My 244's dash was almost perfect when I got it in 2005, but it's since cracked over time despite always being garaged.
Ex850R
What does new dashtop from that Swedish or Dutch parts place cost?
Don't recal name.
