Update!

Last test-fit of the diff before modifying torque arms.

And assembled with new LSD.

This bearing caused a lot of trouble and needed to be removed by force.

Adjusters done.

Installed.

Will need to elongate the holes in the swaybar so it clears the diff cover. The panhard rod also hits the ring gear, so will need to do some modifications there...

Also picked up some Ford AU Fairmont wheels. They fit perfectly and don't look too out of place on the Volvo.

Cold-side done.

Next up is the brake lines, the radiator fans, shroud and hoses, and then wiring.

Volvo has been pushed outside for the moment. My other car needs a bit of TLC.

Cheers for all the kind words guys. I missed this question. Running the stock ECU/PCM. Good enough for me until Andy manages to twist my arm into getting a Haltech or something. Will require a hell of a lot of arm twisting though...

Sweet progress!
Cold side routing is neat and that falcon swaybar is a godsend - extra clearance + a fair bit larger od.
Thats pretty sick that you can turbo it on stock ecu/pcm and run larger injectors and it won't freak out.

Debatable. Just because something is more expensive doesn't mean its better, and just because something has more features doesn't mean it will make you faster.

I agree.

Why would you put as much money and parts into this car if you don't care for it though? That confuses me as I always get attachments to cars worthy/ enough hours spent on it.

The more you invest in a project, the more devastated you are when something (inevitably) goes wrong. I'm trying to make a point that you can have just as much fun (if not more) by taking a few shortcuts here and there. Keep in mind the total project cost of this Volvo build (including the car) is still less than the last engine rebuild in my Statesman by itself.

For the exact reason I mentioned in my last comment? Trying to make a point it can be fun to do things cheap. What's the point of putting a $15k engine into a car like this? And I'm not using the auto from the Statesman...

What have you done for brakes on the rear axle? Redrilling the axles for 5x108 bolt pattern or? Trying to work out what axle I will go with for my 242.
