I stress this to everyone. I'm always happy to talk suspension whether there is a sale involved or not.
We've built our niche based on service and really good product and application knowledge.
It's not just because I'm finicky about doing things the right way though.
We have to be able to warranty what we sell - As such, we won't sell you a shock that is too short, not suitable or whatever for your chosen spring or application, or even something we're just not confident in.
End user experience - I'm so happy when someone mentions how impressed they are with a suspension package we've sold.
I'd be horrified if someone got in a car that had a setup we'd recommended fitted and absolutely hated it or felt it rode or handled poorly.
Legal - In short, I don't want us to get sued if someone wraps themselves around a pole due to a poorly thought out or executed solution.
DIYing or building a one-off something for yourself is a whole different story, you're not building or fitting a commercially available product with expectations that come along with it..
If an enquiry comes in to us asking about springs and shocks, the first response will never include an invoice.
It's always responded to with 'What do you plan to do with the car?' 'Are you doing any motorsport work with it?' 'Do you drive it to and from work?' etc, etc.
Once we have a scope, we can recommend something from there.
Elijah knows I'm happy to explain or show him how things. Ultimately the decision about what hardware to use and how/where to use it are not mine to make. I can only suggest or recommend or share what I know.
