I shopped around Ararat today and bought two 1/8th NPT elbows for around $8 each and managed to attach the sender in a way that will likely clear the alternator and filter, trouble is I discovered some exposed wiring to the alternator and will have to fix that first.
I am very tempted to make up a new engine bay loom, source the wires with a continuity meter, and just cut the old loom's wires, no need to dismantle the whole bloody engine bay just to remove the old wires I reckon...
Anyway, I moved the clock lower in the console, and kept the oil pressure guage up top. Came out o.k I reckon.
