I have recently acquired parts from an early 960 including a set of wheels from a 1992 960. They are 6Jx15x25 also stamped with K1.The wheels are Novas.
I was thinking of putting them on my 1990 740 GLE which also has 6Jx15x25 wheels but they are stamped with K2. They are Rigels.
Does anyone know what the K indicates?

No idea but they fit perfectly due to being the same dimensions....

Up until the facelift (on the 960) 960 and 940 and 740 rimps are all interchangable as long as >15" for front to clear front brakes
The facelift 960's went to a high offset 850 style fitment and most 850 rimps are interchangable

OK. Now that I have picked up Sofie, my 1996 960 I notice that she has 15in rims i.e. 6Jx15x43. So if I understand correctly the 6Jx15x25 should fit OK but the track will be slightly larger. Interestingly, the wheels on Olga, another 1996 960, are 16in not 15in.

I think they will be too far out won't they? Rub on guards?

Well the other option is to steal the wheels off the green 960 - I'm sure the next owner won't notice!

Swap the 25et wheels around. Et43 is fwd offset and can make the car handle a bit better. They went to 16" wheels for looks I imagine.

Vee_Que, are you saying that the Novas will go on the gold 960 OK and just widen the track a bit?

The ET25 stuff does not fit right on 95+ 960...
